Saracens Duo Thomas Castaignede & Kris Chesney come to Southend!
Saturday started with the sun shining on Southend Rugby Club at Warners Bridge and the day just got better!
French International, Thomas Castaignede and Saracens back row player, Kris Chesney kick started the day by putting the mini and youth sections through their paces. There were photo opportunities for all of the children involved and the rugby star walked around the grounds chatting to the parents and children alike.
The club hired bouncy castles, gladiator podium, bungee run and a huge titanic slide for the children and had a rowing competition with the winners in the under 10’s and under 15’s categories, Thomas and Bradley, each winning a rugby ball signed by Thomas Castaignede. There was a raffle for a signed shirt and to top the day off, the Southend first XV beat Havant on home turf 15-13. All monies raised on the day will be spent on the youth programme at Southend RFC and following Saturday’s success, they are already planning the next fun day for the end of the season!
